Healthcare

We work for multiple NHS Trusts across the South of England and Wales, undertaking surveys, air monitoring and asbestos removal project management, whilst also forming part of their asbestos management team. These are large and complex portfolios and require a flexible approach due to their use and being operational 24/7, with particular arrangements required for areas such as accident and emergency departments and operating theatres.

Education

With over 20 years’ experience working for schools and universities across the country we undertake significant programmes of annual re-inspections, in addition to undertaking refurbishment and demolition surveys ahead of works, followed by asbestos removal project management, predominantly to tight deadlines out of term time.

Defence

The defence sector is a major part of our client base, involving management surveys to many hundreds of properties nationwide and refurbishment and demolition surveys ahead of projects. Following surveys we manage any remedial works required and undertake air monitoring during and on completion, followed by ensuring that all client records are updated. Works often involve re-instatement following asbestos removal, from flooring to suspended ceilings and roofs.

Government Bodies

We work for government bodies from County Councils, Borough Councils and Parish Councils, through to the Environment Agency. Surveys range in size and complexity and have included portfolios of thousands of residential properties prior to kitchen and bathroom replacements, right the way through to the survey of the Thames Barrier and premises that can only be accessed by boat or 4×4.

Construction

We work for the UK’s largest property developers through to the smallest of building companies. Surveys can range from the demolition of whole hospital sites prior to hundreds of new homes, through to a survey of one room prior to its renovation. We are frequently involved with land remediation projects, often of brownfield sites, where we manage the decontamination process and undertake daily monitoring throughout the process.

Manufacturing

We work in a wide variety of factories and industrial areas, from food production through to the defence sector. These sites can often involve additional health and safety measures, from ensuring that plant and equipment can be inspected safely, through to noise and moving vehicles. All surveyors undergo rigorous health and safety training for working on such sites.

Hospitality and Retail

Having undertaken surveys for some of the UK’s largest hotel and retail chains we are well placed for undertaking this type of work. Surveys often need to be undertaken out of hours, followed by re-instatement and air monitoring immediately after, in order that the premises can reopen the following day without any cause for concern.

Residential

Over the past 20 years we have undertaken surveys of countless homes, often at short notice prior to exchange and completion. Often, a Chartered Surveyors report will have highlighted the potential for asbestos containing materials and recommended that a full asbestos survey be undertaken. Knowing what asbestos is present prior to purchase is essential as it can frequently save thousands in costly remediation.

Listed Buildings

We have undertaken surveys from Grade I Listed cathedrals and some of London’s largest Grade II Listed West End theatres and embassies to everything in between. All come with their own distinct challenges whether it be the height of ceilings or the working hours, but particular focus is given to ensuring that the survey is fit for purpose, but that damage is not caused to the fabric of the buildings, due to the intrusive nature of certain surveys.
