Looking forward to the contamination & Geotech expo 2022 at the NEC Birmingham

We’re all very excited to be attending the forthcoming Contamination & Geotech Expo 2022 – with this year’s gathering set to take place at the NEC Birmingham next month from September 14 – 15. It’s the UK’s largest event of its kind looking at contaminated land, air and water.

Clearly, we at Core work in the asbestos and land remediation sectors, so this is a really interesting and relevant occasion for us. It’s a unique opportunity to network and learn all about the latest technology and techniques while exchanging ideas with fellow industry professionals.

What’s more, we don’t think there’s ever been a better time to work towards finding solutions to land contamination and its impact on the environment. And, some 10 or 11 months on from last autumn’s COP26 in Glasgow, and in the wake of a summer of wildfires and heatwaves, sustainability concerns remain at the forefront of many people’s and businesses’ minds. We’re all keen to reduce the impact of our activities on the planet.

What’s on at this year’s Contamination & Geotech Expo?

This two-day event, open between 9am and 5pm on both days, aims to speed up the move to a more environmentally friendly planet through land remediation, brownfield regeneration, air-quality testing, treating contaminated water, removing hazardous materials and more.

The event will discuss some of the most critical issues we face in terms of sustainability, and showcase some of the newest and most innovative green tech and launch solutions.

The expo also brings together organisations and professionals from a diverse range of sectors, including civil engineering, land remediation, water and wastewater management, property, construction and public transport. While there is ample opportunity for meetings or informal exchanges, there is also a full seminar programme of panels and demos, all taken by experts.

In between networking and the official sessions, delegates will be able to take in the exhibition and chat to stallholders from numerous relevant organisations.

The Contamination and Geotech Expo is organised in partnership with leading organisations including (among others):

  • The Asbestos Removal Contractors’ Association (ARCA)
  • CL:AIRE (a UK charity working with those involved in sustainable land reuse)
  • UK & Ireland Spill Association
  • The British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF)

The expo’s four key themes

The 2022 event encompasses four specialist themes, as follows:

Land Remediation

Land remediation aims to diagnose, manage and improve contaminated land. The event introduces sector professionals to suppliers who are demonstrating new technology, innovations and cost-effective solutions.

This topic is, of course, something we at Core are heavily involved with, since we offer land remediation services where asbestos is found in sites such as brownfields and post-demolition works. So it’s a concern we’re really interested in.

Clean Air Technology

The Contamination and Geotech Expo will showcase the latest cutting-edge technology, cost-effective services and engineered solutions supporting the prevention, detection and management of airborne pollutants. This area will put forward solutions to environmental, planning and industry professionals, with a particular focus on the latest innovations, technology and insights designed for businesses focusing on cleaner air.

You’re probably already aware that there are many different types of air pollutants, including lead, sulphur dioxide, carbon monoxide and others. Asbestos is among them and, as an asbestos specialist, keeping up with and learning about the latest clean-air technology really matters to us. So we’re looking forward to gaining new insights into this area at next month’s event.

Wastewater

This part of the event highlights the most recent wastewater equipment, services, technology and chemicals used in industrial, residential and commercial settings. Through exhibitors, seminars, panel debates and networking opportunities, visitors will be granted invaluable insight into all aspects of the wastewater industry.

Hazardous Materials

The latest innovations supporting the management, testing and removal of dangerous materials will be on show, all aimed at protecting the environment. This area will provide all professionals working with or within the hazardous materials industry a raft of valuable insights into the challenges and solutions available, through a wide range of exhibitors, seminars, panel debates and networking opportunities.

Again, this theme represents another of Core’s specialist interests, and since asbestos is a hazardous material, we’re excited to learn about protecting the environment and the latest detection and prevention technologies.

How to attend, exhibit and secure tickets

If you’re thinking of attending, tickets to attend this year’s Contamination and Geotech Expo are free of charge. You can request them here: https://bit.ly/3dBTRJO

Though we won’t be exhibiting at this year’s event, we very much look forward to attending and meeting everyone there. If you would like to say hello to us, please let us know beforehand and we’ll keep an eye out for you, or we can arrange a place and time to catch up on the day. It’s a great chance to chat with us in person and discuss new technologies and innovations for land, air and water contamination.

Finally, if you’re considering having your own stand at this expo, as well as meeting and listening to some of the industry’s leading professionals and technology experts, you can book a stand on their website.
