Emma Corfield-Walters BA (Hons) P402,
Managing Director

Co-founder of Core Surveys in 2004 after extensive experience as an asbestos analyst, surveyor and consultant throughout the UK. Emma acts as lead asbestos consultant for several large organisations and is a BOHS approved training provider. Innovative in the extreme Emma is passionate about the company and enjoys taking it in new directions and exceeding client expectations.

Director

Simon joined Emma in co-founding Core Surveys in 2004 and quickly became a qualified and experienced asbestos surveyor. Simon also holds the BOHS P406 and project manages large scale asbestos removal works on behalf of our clients. Great attention to detail and the ability to produce results under pressure has earnt Simon an exceedingly good reputation in the industry.

Damian Fazackerley BSc (Hons)
Asbestos & Legionella Consultant

Our resident Legionella expert and also a trained asbestos surveyor, Damian joined the company in early 2006 and has forged excellent relationships with many of our clients. Damian is largely responsible for advising and surveying the commercial sector alongside Simon as well as being responsible for surveying our largest clients’ social housing stock (no mean feat!). Damian has recently re-joined us after 12 months sabbatical working with an asbestos consultancy in Australia.

Craig Meagher
Asbestos & Fire Risk Consultant

A qualified asbestos surveyor and Fire Risk Assessor, Craig is currently responsible for managing many of our regular client portfolios. Craig is also responsible for quality control and is currently working hard on our UKAS accreditation application.

Jo Philp

Jo joined us in December 2007 and acts as lead surveyor for our nationwide clients. Her first month at Core took her to Scotland, Wales and Newcastle! Jo also acts as our social secretary.

Matt Collins
Legionella Consultant

Matt has 7 years in the water hygiene industry, the first year as a client and the last 6 as a consultant so is able to understand water hygiene management from both perspectives. Over the past 6 years Matt has surveyed and managed clients with one property to clients with large nationwide property portfolios including complex systems and requirements. Matt is an associate member of the Water Management Society. Matt is a keen sportsman and loves playing rugby and cricket. If he’s not playing them he’ll be watching them!

Nigel Field
Energy Consultant

Nigel is a qualified Domestic and Commercial Energy Assessor after working for 25 years in the Financial Services Industry. Nigel joined us in September 2008 and currently produces Energy Assessments for our social housing clients. His time is also devoted to the preparation and production of Home Information Packs and he is shortly to commence his studies for ACEA (Air Conditioning Energy Assessor).


Philip Sims
PR Consultant

Following 15 years in London, where he was UK Creative Director of an international advertising and PR agency, Philip returned to Wales to provide services in media and public relations, photography and copywriting. By co-hosting a Welsh Assembly Conference, and conducting a far-reaching media campaign, Philip and Emma have helped to significantly raise asbestos awareness in Wales. These measures have also resulted in Emma becoming a recognized authority on asbestos in the Principality.

Cerys Halford
Energy Consultant

A Chartered Surveyor and qualified Energy Assessor, Cerys has over twenty years experience of both the Commercial and Residential property sectors. Having gained considerable experience in all aspects of professional surveying practice, Cerys decided to add to her professional qualifications by becoming a level 4 energy assessor. She firmly believes that energy efficient buildings are a fundamental requirement in the fight against global warming and climate change.

Office Manager

Joining us as Office Manager in January 2008, Laura has spent her time since then getting us organised! Responsibilities include maintaining our ISO 9001 accreditation, organizing our training sessions and managing the re-inspection database. Laura is the first point of contact for accounts.

Administrator
