Asbestos Surveys and Identification
Asbestos is the collective term used to describe a family of several types of naturally occurring mineral rock. There are six regulated types of asbestos, the three main types being:
All 3 types were widely used and imported into the UK. Crocidolite and Amosite were banned from use and export in 1985 with Chrysotile being banned in 1999.
Laboratory analysis is required to identify the different types of asbestos.

Asbestos fibres have been incorporated into many materials especially building materials since the end of the 1800s
In the vast majority of cases only a fully trained and experienced asbestos surveyor will be able to identify all asbestos materials in a property.
